Energy and Comms Carrying the Tape While Tech Bleeds Into Power Hour
SPX is flat but the internals are rotational — tech is the drag, energy is the leader, and BMBL just went parabolic. Here's what I'm watching into the close.

Live tape — what this brief is about
Morning opened soft and stayed soft for tech, which is telling. SPX is only down 0.18% but that number is hiding a -1.27% industrials and -1.03% health bleed under the hood — the index is being held up by energy (+1.29%) and comms (+1.01%), not breadth.
On my radar
- BMBL $5.94 — up +56% on RVOL of 13.6x, float 151.6M. That's a real catalyst move. I'm not chasing this — I want a 5-minute base above $5.50 before touching it. If it loses $5.50 into power hour, it's a short candidate.
- CIFR $11.14 — down -14.27% with only 1.7x RVOL, which means this isn't washed yet. Short interest likely still has room. I'd look for a dead cat bounce rejection at $11.60–$11.80 to press the short.
- CHRN $15.41 — losing the 200 SMA on 1.5x RVOL is a setup I like for continuation lower. Target is $14.80; I'd stop out above $16.00.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,750 is the floor I'm watching — if we crack that in power hour, the selling accelerates fast.
- Gold $4,160 is the level I'm not letting go of for my bullion thesis — holding above it is fine, but a close below gets my attention.
- Crude $94.18 pushing higher with natural gas up +2.62% — energy names look like the only clean long sector right now.
How I'm positioned
Fear & Greed at 43 (Fear) while crypto sits at 57 (Greed) — that divergence is interesting. BTC up +1.95% while stocks drift lower tells me risk appetite isn't totally dead, just rotating. I'm holding my BTC position and not adding. Gold I'm holding flat — no new size until it reclaims $4,200. On the day-trade side, BMBL was not on my scanner this morning so I missed the move, no regrets chasing it now. Into power hour I'm watching for a CIFR rejection bounce to short. Sizing stays at 75% of normal until SPX shows me a direction off $7,750.
