Silver Wrecked, Tech Bled Out — One Scanner Hit Worth Noting
A brutal broad-market selloff hit silver hardest at -6.41% while MXCT ran 27% on real volume. Crypto Fear & Greed at 62 while BTC drops — that disconnect is a warning sign.

Live tape — what this brief is about
Silver getting smashed 6.41% in a single session while gold dropped 1.35% and tech cratered 3% — that's not a normal risk-off day, that's something more deliberate. The DXY catching a bid while the 10Y yield actually fell tells me this was rotation and forced selling, not a clean macro narrative.
On my radar
- MXCT $1.23 — RVOL 32.7x, float 107.1M, 50 SMA bounce with a catalyst. This was the only long setup that qualified today and it delivered. If it holds above $1.10 overnight and opens with volume, I want to see a flag build before any entry tomorrow.
- CIFR $9.94 — RVOL 2.2x, crypto mining names getting hit hard with BTC down 1.68%. Not chasing a short at these levels but watching for a dead-cat bounce toward $10.50 as a potential fade entry tomorrow.
- PPTA $17.38 — catalyst-driven drop of 10.21%. Need to research the news but if the selling was fundamental, any bounce to $18.50 looks like a short.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,716 closed below what I wanted — I need to see it reclaim $7,800 tomorrow or the next leg down targets $7,620.
- Gold $4,121 — I'm not panicking on this pullback but $4,050 is where my thesis gets stress-tested.
- Silver $55.71 — a 6.41% single-day drop is a liquidation event. Not touching it until the dust settles, watching $54.00 as potential support.
- Crude $95.14 with energy up 0.66% is the one bright spot today, and I'm paying attention.
How I'm positioned
Stock market Fear & Greed at 32 while crypto sits at 62 (Greed) — that's a dangerous divergence. BTC dropping 1.68% while crypto sentiment stays greedy means retail hasn't capitulated yet. I'd be cautious adding any crypto exposure here.
My gold position is underwater today but I'm holding through $4,050 — that's my hard stop. Silver position is on pause, no adds until I see stabilization. Day trades today were flat; the scanner flagged zero qualifiers at session start, and MXCT came to life mid-session after I was already sitting on my hands. That's fine — discipline is staying out when the setup isn't clean.
Tomorrow I'm watching the open reaction on SPX. If we gap down and fail to reclaim $7,750 in the first 30 minutes, I'm staying in cash for most of the session and letting the tape show its hand.
