SPX Pushes $7,811 Pre-Market — REITS Lead, Crude Surges 2%

Futures are green across the board with Health and REITs leading sectors. Crude oil's 2%+ move is the story nobody's talking about yet — and I'm watching it closely.

Mario's take

Overnight tape is constructive but not clean. SPX futures up 0.59% to $7,811, Health at +1.58%, REITs at +1.86%, and Finance at +0.92% are doing the heavy lifting — but Communications dropping -1.51% is a drag I'm not ignoring. Crude ripping +2.16% to $93.83 while Energy equities are actually down -0.25% is a disconnect that usually resolves violently in one direction.

On my radar
  • CCM $3.88 — up 25.16%, RVOL 7.6x, float 130.3M. Decent float for a momentum name. Want to see it consolidate above $3.60 pre-market and give me a clean intraday flag. Trigger is a break above $4.00 on volume.
  • SVC $7.15 — up 14.95%, RVOL 13.2x, float 129.5M. REIT sector tailwind is real today. Watching $7.00 as the hold level — below that and this is a fade, not a follow.
  • PLCE $1.42 — down 26%, RVOL 18.4x. This is a short candidate on any dead-cat bounce into $1.55–$1.60. Float data missing but the move is real.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,811 is the line pre-market — I need a hold above $7,780 at the open or I'm trimming risk fast. Flush below that opens a move toward $7,740.
  • Gold $4,189 pulling back while crude surges tells me the dollar-hedge trade is rotating. $4,150 is my line in the sand for my bullion position.
  • Crude $93.83 — if this extends above $95, energy equities have to catch up. XLE lagging crude this wide never lasts more than a session or two.
  • 10Y Yield at 5.24% is elevated but dipped overnight. REITs loving it short-term but if yield reverses back above 5.30%, that REIT surge flips.
How I'm positioned

Stock Market Fear & Greed sitting at 45 (Fear) while the index is near highs — that divergence is actually bullish for the tape, not bearish. Crypto Fear & Greed at 69 (Greed) while BTC drops -1.23% to $82,645 is more concerning. I'm not adding to BTC here.

Holding my gold position through the dip — $4,150 is where I reassess, not where I panic. Crude surge has me watching XLE for a long if energy equities start catching up after the open. Day trade sizing at normal risk given SPX momentum, but Communications weakness keeps me out of that sector entirely today. First trade I'm looking for: CCM off the open if it holds $3.60 and builds.
