Energy Runs, Tech Drags, and the Tape Is Chopping Into Power Hour
SPX is flat on the day but the internals are telling a clearer story — energy is the only real momentum sector and tech is the anchor. Here's what I'm watching into the close.

Live tape — what this brief is about
Morning gave us nothing clean on the broad tape. SPX is basically unchanged at $7,815, which sounds fine until you see tech down -1.10% and energy up +1.40% — that's a sector rotation story, not a bull market story.
On my radar
- ALLT $9.07 — RVOL 2.7x, float 48.9M, catalyst-driven. Best long setup on the scanner today. Want to see it hold $8.75 into power hour and break $9.25 with volume before I chase.
- BLCO $15.76 — RVOL 2.6x, down -8.90% on catalyst. Short side. Below $15.50 I think this grinds to $14.80. Float unknown but the momentum is real.
- CCC $7.67 — RVOL only 1.6x but up +9.33% with catalyst. Float is too big at 586.9M to get excited. I'm watching but not touching unless RVOL doubles into the close.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,800 is the floor I'm watching — a clean break below that flips my power hour bias to short.
- Crude $93.63 is running hard today and energy equities are following. $95 is the next resistance; if crude tags it before close, XLE longs could squeeze.
- 10Y Yield at 5.24% is the quiet tension in the room — any spike above 5.30% and financials give back their gains fast.
How I'm positioned
Morning was slow. No triggers fired that I liked clean enough to size into — ALLT popped early but I missed the entry. Gold and silver are both off today and I'm not adding to my bullion positions while the dollar is bid at 102.55. Bitcoin at $82,635 with Crypto Fear & Greed at 69 (Greed) is a mismatch I don't trust — I'm holding my BTC position but not adding. Into power hour, I'm watching ALLT for the $9.25 breakout and have a standing short alert on BLCO at $15.50. If SPX loses $7,800 in the last 30 minutes, I'm cutting my small index long and going flat overnight.
