Crude Rips, Tech Drags, and the Scanner Came Up Empty

SPX basically flat but the internals told a different story. Energy won the day, tech got hit, and my scanner flagged zero qualified setups — here's how I'm grading it.

Mario's take

Flat index, ugly internals. SPX closed down -0.08% but that number is lying to you — tech dropped -1.29% and consumer pulled back -0.54% while energy carried the whole tape with a +1.37% session. The rotation is real and I've been positioned for exactly this.

On my radar
  • ALLT $9.04 — RVOL 3.0x on a float of only 48.9M, catalyst-backed move of +7.75%. This is the cleanest name from today's scan. If it consolidates above $8.60 overnight I'm watching the open hard.
  • BLCO $15.51 — down -10.38% on RVOL 3.6x with a confirmed catalyst. Short-side momentum names like this tend to get follow-through. $14.80 is where I'd consider a short entry on a failed bounce.
  • CCC $7.59 — +8.12% on a 586.9M float kills the trade for me. Too much supply. Flagging it but not touching it.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,805 held the close but $7,750 is the real line — crack that and this rotation becomes a selloff.
  • Gold $4,191 is starting to look heavy. A daily close under $4,160 flips my short-term bullion view cautious.
  • Crude $93.54 is the story today. $95 is the next resistance and I think it gets there this week.
  • 10Y at 5.24% with DXY pushing higher is a headwind for growth names — keep that in mind before chasing any tech bounce tomorrow.
How I'm positioned

Scanner flagged zero qualified setups today, which told me everything I needed to know — no size, no new day trades, just let the book breathe. My energy longs had a good day and I trimmed about 20% of my crude-adjacent position into the +1.84% move. Gold pulled back but I'm not touching my bullion core until $4,160 breaks. BTC at $82,758 with Crypto Fear & Greed at 69 (Greed) while price is down on the day is a divergence I don't love — I'm not adding here. Tomorrow I'm watching the ALLT open above $8.60 for a potential long trigger, and I'll reassess crude if it tests $95 at the open.
