Live tape — what this brief is about
The overnight story is simple: the 10-year yield hit 5.248% and the market is repricing everything that depends on cheap money. Tech is down -1.79% pre-market, and that's not noise — that's rate sensitivity getting beaten out of growth names in real time. Energy is the only sector with real conviction up +2.97%, and I'm paying attention to that rotation.
On my radar
- CABO $15.38 — RVOL 4.1x, float only 5.7M, up +16.43%. That float is a coil. I want a pre-market consolidation above $14.80 and a clean break with volume at the open before I touch it. Tight stop at $14.50.
- GLAS $4.41 — down -14.04%, RVOL 2.4x. Short setup if it bounces into $4.65–$4.75 and stalls. I'm not chasing the flush — I want the dead-cat entry.
- EQPT $15.66 — RVOL 2.9x, down -11.43% with a catalyst tag. Watching $16.20 as the short entry if it retraces into that level on weak volume.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,720 is the line I'm protecting — below that opens the door to $7,660 fast given the rate backdrop.
- Gold $4,203 holding strong with the dollar only up +0.15% — that divergence is bullish for bullion. $4,175 is my stop on existing longs.
- Crude $90.90 dipping while energy equities rip — that tells me this is a sector rotation play, not a supply story. I'm not chasing XLE here.
- 10Y Yield 5.25% is the fulcrum for the entire session. If it keeps climbing, tech bleeds and nothing else matters.
How I'm positioned
Fear & Greed at 38 (Fear) on equities while crypto sits at 59 (Greed) — that split tells me BTC at $82,970 is being treated as a risk-on asset by a different crowd than the bond market. I'm holding my BTC position and not adding. Gold longs stay intact with a hard stop at $4,175. My bullion thesis is the strongest it's been all quarter with yields this elevated and the dollar barely reacting.
Day trade sizing is half normal risk until SPX shows me it can defend $7,720. I'm focused on CABO at the open — that float with that RVOL is the cleanest setup on the board. If it holds $14.80 in the first 10 minutes, I'm in small and scaling only on confirmation.
