10Y Yield at 5.33% Is the Story — Everything Else Is Noise

The 10-year is knocking on 5.33% and crude just ripped 4.73%. Rate-sensitive sectors are getting crushed and the scanner came up empty on qualified setups — here's how I'm navigating the open.

Mario's take

The overnight story is a 10-year yield printing 5.326% while crude exploded +4.73% to $92.46. That combination — rising rates AND an oil spike — is a stagflation whisper, and the tape is treating it that way. Industrials down -2.18%, REITs down -1.29%, Materials off -1.51%. Health is the only green sector. This is a risk-off rotation, not a dip to buy.

On my radar
  • BULL $5.89 — down -19.09%, RVOL 8.4x, catalyst-driven flush. Watching for a dead-cat bounce into $6.20–$6.40 to reload short. I want confirmation of rejection before touching it.
  • CANG $3.58 — up +18.54%, RVOL 3.6x, float 82M. That RVOL isn't screaming conviction. I need to see it hold $3.40 and build a 15-minute base before I consider a long scalp.
  • NXTC $6.56 — tiny 4.1M float, up +15.39%, but RVOL at just 1.2x tells me this is a thin-float drift, not a real squeeze. Pass unless RVOL clears 3x intraday.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,800 is the line right now — we're sitting on it at $7,801. A clean break and hold below $7,800 opens a move toward $7,740.
  • 10Y Yield $5.40% is the next ceiling that would genuinely break sentiment. We're not there yet but we're close enough to trade defensively.
  • Crude $95 is my next watch — if it continues this move, energy equities eventually follow even if they're lagging today. XLE short is off my list until crude stalls.
  • Gold $4,140 going nowhere overnight is interesting. Flat gold with rising yields usually means dollar strength is capping it. $4,100 is my add-on level.
How I'm positioned

Scanner came back with zero qualified setups out of 344 tickers scanned. That's a message. I'm not forcing trades into a yield-spike, oil-spike open with SPX pinned at support. My gold position is untouched — I'm holding through any pullback to $4,100 and that's my line. Bitcoin at $82,256 with Crypto Fear & Greed at 64 (Greed) while the stock Fear & Greed sits at 45 (Fear) is a divergence I'm watching closely — crypto greed during equity fear usually resolves with crypto catching down, not stocks catching up. My BTC position is sized conservatively. Today I'm sitting on my hands until the 10Y either stabilizes or SPX breaks $7,800 with conviction — then I'll size into index puts for a swing.
