SPX Holding Gains but 10Y at 5.32% Is the Real Story

The tape is green but the bond market is screaming. Power hour sets up with a real tension between equity strength and a 10-year yield that's breaking out to levels that historically crush multiples.

Mario's take

Morning session held together better than the yield chart deserves. SPX is up half a percent but the 10Y at 5.324% is the loudest signal on my screen right now — that's not a number you dismiss.

On my radar
  • ALEC $2.17 — RVOL 75.6x, float 111M, catalyst-driven. This is the kind of print I wait for all session. Didn't qualify on the scanner criteria but the RVOL alone keeps it on my watchlist into power hour. Need to see it hold $2.00 and not give back the morning move — a consolidation flag here sets up a potential afternoon squeeze.
  • STNE $11.85 — up 24%, RVOL only 3.4x on a 243M float. Too much float for my taste on a day-trade but worth watching if volume compresses and it builds above $12.00.
  • CWH $4.21 — down 16%, RVOL 1.9x. Weak short setup by my standards — I want 3x minimum. Watching but not touching.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,720 is where I get defensive — any fade into that level with the 10Y still elevated flips my power hour bias to neutral.
  • 10Y 5.35% is the line I don't want to see broken before close. If it pushes through, risk-off into the bell.
  • Gold $4,140 is my short-term support — it's barely moving today which tells me the bid is real but not urgent.
How I'm positioned

Energy leading at +1.17% while crude fades — that divergence doesn't last. I'm not chasing XLE here. Still holding gold, no adds today. Silver's move to +1.80% is interesting and supports my bullion thesis. BTC sliding while Crypto Fear & Greed sits at 70 is a red flag — that's complacency, not strength. I trimmed half my BTC exposure this morning. Day trade sizing stays at 75% normal risk until the 10Y shows me a ceiling. Into power hour I'm watching ALEC for a flag entry above $2.10 with a hard stop at $1.95.
