Live tape — what this brief is about

Live ·· After hours
Mario's take

Brutal day to be long anything except energy. SPX gave back $7,623 at the close, gold cracked $4,013, and the Fear & Greed Index sitting at 21 (Extreme Fear) while crude rips +4.27% tells you exactly what kind of rotation this is — risk-off everything except oil.

On my radar
  • CNDT $1.79 — up 20% on RVOL 2.9x, float 155.5M. Not clean enough for me intraday but worth watching for a continuation flag above $1.70 tomorrow.
  • ENVX $2.79 — catalyst + momentum, RVOL 2.3x. Float at 219M is too heavy for a clean squeeze but $2.60 holds and this could grind higher.
  • LKQ $17.97 — down 20% on a catalyst with RVOL 2.3x. Dead-cat bounce candidates above $18.50 interest me as a short re-entry.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,580 is the next support — lose that and I'm looking at $7,510 before any bounce materializes.
  • Gold $4,000 is the psychological line. We're sitting right on the edge and I don't want to see a daily close below it.
  • Crude $106 is the next resistance. If it clears that on Monday, energy equities have another leg up.
  • 10Y at 4.988% is the real story — if we touch 5.0%, financials and REITs get hit again hard.
How I'm positioned

I grade today a C+. My energy exposure saved me — that was right. My gold position is bleeding and I'm questioning the short-term thesis with yields threatening 5%. I trimmed 25% of my gold position at the close and set a hard stop at $3,970. Bitcoin holding flat while everything else sold off is quietly bullish to me — Crypto Fear & Greed at 50 while stock Fear & Greed is at 21 (Extreme Fear) is a divergence I'm watching closely. Scanner had zero qualifiers out of 442 tickers today, which confirms the tape was garbage for momentum plays. Tomorrow I'm not forcing anything pre-market — I want to see the open, let crude and the 10Y dictate the first 30 minutes, and only add back to gold if $4,030 reclaims on volume.
