Morning opened ugly and stayed ugly. Tech is the lead weight at -2.79%, BTC cracked below $82K, and gold gave up nearly 2% — this isn't a sector rotation, it's a risk-off unwind. The one divergence I can't ignore: the 10Y yield dropped to 5.003% while equities sold off, which usually signals a flight-to-safety bid, not a growth scare. That's a warning to me that this is fear-driven, not fundamental.
On my radar
- AHT $2.47 — RVOL 58.2x, float 6.5M, catalyst-driven. This is the only real scanner hit today. I want a flag above $2.25 into power hour. Anything below $2.10 and I'm out fast — low-float names can evaporate in a risk-off tape.
- BHVN $15.19 — RVOL 9.0x, float 151M. Too heavy for this tape character. I'm watching but not touching until it proves $14.50 holds.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,600 is the line I'm watching into close — a break there opens a fast move to $7,520.
- Gold $4,040 is the next support — if it loses that, my longer-term bullion thesis takes a short-term hit but I'm not panicking.
- Health and Utilities holding green tells me this is a defensive rotation, not full capitulation — yet.
How I'm positioned
Fear & Greed at 21 (Extreme Fear) with crypto F&G at 68 (Greed) — that divergence is loud. The market is screaming fear while crypto hasn't fully cracked yet. My BTC position I'm holding with a mental stop near $79,500. Gold I'm not adding until I see $4,040 hold on a retest. Day trades are at quarter-size today — the scanner put up zero qualified names and the tape character shifted bearish by 10am. Power hour I'm watching AHT for a momentum continuation trade only if it holds structure above $2.25. Otherwise I'm sitting on my hands and letting the sellers exhaust.
