SPX Grinds Higher, AHT Goes Nuclear at Close
SPX +0.59% but the real story was AHT printing 1304x RVOL on a 6.5M float. Here's how I graded the day.

Live tape — what this brief is about
Tech carried the tape again and SPX closed near highs, but the 10Y at 5.146% is the thing keeping me from adding to any rate-sensitive names. The divergence between stock Fear & Greed at 32 (Fear) and crypto at 63 (Greed) tells me two completely different crowds are trading these markets right now.
On my radar
- AHT $2.58 — this is the one. RVOL 1304.5x on a 6.5M float is not a typo. Up +44% today with some catalyst driving it. I didn't catch this intraday but I'm watching for a morning gap-and-go or a flush to $2.10–$2.20 for a scalp entry tomorrow. One of the cleanest float stories I've seen in weeks.
- AHT-PH $4.04 and AHT-PG $3.98 — the preferred shares tagged along at +50% and +42% respectively. Float is unknown so sizing risk accordingly if I touch these.
- RCUS $19.44 — down -18.15% on a catalyst. Worth watching for a dead-cat fade if it bounces into $21 tomorrow.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,700 is the line I'm defending — a close below that and I trim my index exposure.
- 10Y Yield 5.20% is my trip wire for rate-sensitive longs. We're at 5.146% — close enough to matter.
- Gold $4,100 — holding above it cleanly. No reason to touch my bullion position.
- BTC $83,000 — that's my stop on the long I'm carrying.
How I'm positioned
Gold and BTC longs intact, both performing. Natural gas getting destroyed at -6.38% — glad I have zero exposure there. COMMS at -1.09% and REIT at -0.79% are the drags I expected with yields where they are. I graded today a B+ — I missed AHT intraday which is the loss, but I didn't chase it either, which is the win. Tomorrow I'm setting an alert at $2.20 on AHT for a potential long entry in the first 30 minutes if volume holds.
