SPX Pushes to $7,724 but the Internals Are Lying to You
Tech and Consumer led the tape to green but gold, crude, and BTC all closed red. The divergence between equity euphoria and everything else is widening — and the 10Y at 5.277% is the story nobody's talking about.

Live tape — what this brief is about
SPX closed at $7,724 (+0.75%) and on the surface that looks like a clean win. It wasn't. Gold down 0.74%, crude down 1.53%, BTC down 0.71%, and the 10Y yield printing 5.277% — that's a bond market screaming that this equity rally is borrowed time. Fear & Greed sitting at 32 (Fear) while stocks grind higher is the kind of divergence that ends badly.
On my radar
- CABO $12.95 — up 24.95% on a 5.7M float with RVOL 1.9x. Catalyst-driven, tiny float. If it consolidates overnight and holds $12.00, this is a gap-and-go candidate tomorrow. I'm watching pre-market volume closely.
- NNBR $4.50 — up nearly 24% on a 77M float. Too big a float for my usual playbook but the momentum is real. $4.20 is the line I need to hold to even consider a long.
- STLA $4.41 — down 6% on a catalyst. If it opens weak tomorrow and RVOL kicks back up, I'll look at a short continuation below $4.25.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,700 is now support — lose that and the next meaningful level is $7,640.
- Gold $4,150 is the line I don't want to see broken. A close below that flips my near-term bullion thesis defensive.
- 10Y at 5.277% is the real boss of this market right now — if it pushes toward 5.35%, expect equity multiple compression to accelerate.
How I'm positioned
My gold position is uncomfortably flat tonight. Down 0.74% on the session and sitting near a level I care about. I'm not cutting it — my thesis is intact — but I'm moving my stop up to $4,120 to protect principal. BTC dipping while Crypto Fear & Greed sits at 72 (Greed) is a red flag; I trimmed 15% of my BTC position into today's weakness. Day trades were light — scanner flagged zero qualified setups — so I sat on my hands and I'm fine with that. Tomorrow I'm watching CABO pre-market and will not chase anything that opens more than 5% above today's close.
