SPX Leaking, Energy Ripping, Scanner Quiet — Power Hour Setup
The tape is split: energy is the only real bid while materials and REITs bleed out. Scanner came up empty on qualified setups but a few names are worth watching into the close.

Live tape — what this brief is about
Morning played out weaker than the futures implied — SPX never found footing and the rotation into energy is the only thing keeping the broader index from a harder flush. Fear & Greed sitting at 27 (Fear) while crypto greed is at 74 is a divergence I can't ignore.
On my radar
- INSG $4.41 — RVOL 4.1x, float 16.3M, catalyst-driven. This is the cleanest long setup on the tape today. I want to see it consolidate above $4.20 and build a flag into power hour. A hold there with a volume shelf and I'm in for a push toward $4.80.
- CTVA $12.10 — down 84% with RVOL 9.3x. That kind of move on a catalyst means dead-cat risk is real. I'm not shorting into that hole, but if it bounces into $14.50–$15.00 on low volume I'd consider a short entry with a tight stop above $15.50.
- INGN $6.04 — RVOL only 1.2x which is soft, but a 14% move on catalyst has my attention. Too thin on volume right now. Skip unless RVOL clears 2.5x before 2pm.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,580 is the line I'm watching — lose that into the close and I expect a flush toward $7,520 overnight.
- Gold $4,202 holding while DXY pushes 102 is a signal gold is stubbornly strong. Bullish for my position.
- Crude $92.45 up 2.25% explains the energy bid — XLE isn't going short until crude stalls at $94.
How I'm positioned
No new day trades triggered this morning — scanner came up empty on qualified names and I'm not forcing it. Holding my gold position through any dip to $4,170, no adds here. Bitcoin at $84K with crypto greed elevated keeps me cautious on adding to my BTC stack today. Into power hour I'm watching INSG exclusively — if it sets a flag above $4.20 in the next 30 minutes, I'm taking a half-sized position with a stop at $4.05. SPX weakness keeps my day trade sizing at 50% until I see a clear directional break.
