Fear at 29 While Gold and BTC Both Rip — Disconnect Matters

SPX is flat with a slight lean lower, but gold is up 1.43%, BTC is up 2%, and the 10Y yield is pulling back. That divergence tells me something. Here's how I'm playing it.

Mario's take

Fear & Greed at 29 (Fear) while BTC runs to $85,301 and gold tacks on 1.43% overnight — that's not noise, that's capital rotating out of equities and into hard assets. SPX futures are barely red but the internals are messier than the headline number suggests.

On my radar
  • SANG $4.93 — RVOL 46.4x, float 33.3M, catalyst-driven. This is the most actionable long on the board today. I want to see it consolidate pre-market and hold $4.60 before I touch it. A clean break and flag above $5.00 is my entry trigger.
  • ASPS $6.11 — tiny float at 11.4M, RVOL 4.2x. No external catalyst listed but the float is tight enough that any buying pressure sends it. $5.80 is my hard stop line — below that it's done.
  • NEOG $12.73 — down 7.22% on a catalyst with RVOL 3.2x. Short setup if it bounces into $13.20–$13.40 and stalls. That's where I'd fade it back toward $12.00.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,620 is the line I'm watching on the downside — lose that and I think we flush toward $7,570 before any meaningful bid shows up.
  • Gold $4,239 already breaking out. Above $4,250 I'm adding to my bullion position. Below $4,210 I trim.
  • 10Y Yield at 5.22% pulling back is the only thing holding this tape together — if it reverses and reclaims 5.30%, equities will feel it fast.
  • DXY $101.12 weak, which is fuel for the gold and BTC moves. Watching $100.80 as next support.
How I'm positioned

I'm holding gold and silver through today — no stops moved, thesis intact. BTC I'm still long from lower levels and not chasing the $85K print, but I'm not selling either. Crypto Fear & Greed at 71 (Greed) means the crowd is getting excited, which makes me cautious about adding size here.

On the day-trade side, SANG is my primary focus at the open. Half size until I see how it behaves in the first 15 minutes — if it gaps up and grinds, I wait for the first pullback. ASPS is a secondary watch only. I'm not touching IOVA with that float size at 446M — no edge there for me.

Today's action: scale into gold above $4,250, keep day-trade size at 50% until SPX shows direction off $7,620.
