SPX Fades at Open, Gold and Silver Flash Macro Stress Signal

SPX is slipping pre-market while gold and silver surge — the commodity complex is screaming something the equity tape hasn't fully priced yet. Here's what I'm watching at the open.

Mario's take

SPX futures are soft at $7,651 and financials are getting hit hardest at -1.13% — that's not noise, that's rotation out of rate-sensitive names as the 10Y yield sits at 5.272%. Gold up +0.71% and silver ripping +1.69% simultaneously tells me the macro stress bid is alive and well. I'm not fading that move.

On my radar
  • TGE $1.55 — RVOL an absurd 9,473x, float 48.5M, up +86.75% pre-market. This is a pure momentum trade. I want to see it consolidate above $1.40 on the open and hold that level for at least 10 minutes before I touch it. Chasing a gap this size is how you blow up a week.
  • PACB $2.37 — RVOL 8.3x on a 310M float is less exciting, but the catalyst tag matters. Float is too big for a clean squeeze but worth watching if it breaks and holds $2.50 with volume confirming.
  • GLAS $5.61 — down -17.38% with RVOL 4.9x on the short side. If it can't reclaim $5.80 in the first 30 minutes, I'm watching for continuation toward $5.20.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,600 is the line I don't want to see broken — below that I expect acceleration toward $7,540.
  • Gold $4,216 holding here with silver confirming is bullish for my bullion book. A close above $4,230 today adds conviction.
  • 10Y at 5.30% is the trigger that cracks REIT and finance further — already seeing it in sector data.
How I'm positioned

Stock Fear & Greed at 31 (Fear) while crypto sits at 74 (Greed) — that divergence is telling. I'm holding my BTC position but not adding. Gold and silver long positions stay intact; I'll add to silver on any dip to $60.50. Day trade size today is half normal risk given the sector rotation and soft tape. My only pre-market action is setting a limit alert on TGE at $1.40 — if it pulls back cleanly and firms up, I'll take a small starter in the first hour.
