Crude Rips 3%, SPX Flatlines, and My Scanner Blanked Out

The tape was a mixed bag — energy was the only sector with real conviction, tech dragged, and my scanner found zero qualified setups out of 403 tickers. Here's how I'm grading the day.

Live tape — what this brief is about

today
Mario's take

Flat close on SPX masks a genuinely ugly session underneath. Energy ran, everything else either drifted or got sold, and the 10Y yield at 5.162% is quietly becoming the story nobody wants to talk about.

On my radar
  • UXIN $1.29 — RVOL 212.2x but that float is a red flag at 67B shares. This is a liquidity trap, not a trade. Watching it for the fade setup tomorrow at the open if it gaps up again.
  • DNA $10.30 — +20.1% on RVOL 2.6x with a 62.3M float. Cleaner story. If it consolidates tonight and holds $9.80, I want to see a morning flag for a long trigger above $10.50.
  • MAAS $13.72 — down 8.9% on catalyst with RVOL 2.9x. Short side. If it bounces toward $14.50 on the open tomorrow without volume confirmation, that's my entry.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,711 is holding but barely. A close below $7,680 tomorrow opens a flush to $7,620.
  • Crude $95.25 ripping 3.35% on the day — $97 is the next resistance. If it tags that level, energy equities get another leg.
  • Gold $4,309 pulling back with silver down 1.17%. The metals are acting heavy here. I'm not adding below $4,280 — that's my line before reassessing.
  • 10Y at 5.162% is the real pressure valve. Rate-sensitives (REIT -0.19%, UTIL -0.80%) are already pricing it in.
How I'm positioned

Stock Fear & Greed at 36 (Fear) while crypto sits at 71 (Greed) — that divergence is telling me something. My BTC position is sitting fine at this level; I'm not chasing.

My scanner blanked — zero qualified out of 403 tickers. That's not a system failure, that's the market telling me to stay small. I graded today a C+. Energy read was right, I missed DNA on the long side by waiting for a cleaner setup that never printed. Gold hedge is doing its job but barely.

Today's action: I trimmed half my crude-linked position into the 3% rip. Tomorrow I'm watching DNA at the open and MAAS for a dead-cat short. No new adds on gold until $4,280 holds as support.
