10Y Yield at 4.976% Is the Real Story — Finance Is Bleeding

The tape looks flat but Finance is down 2.13% and the 10Y is pushing 5%. Power hour setups are thin — one scanner pick qualified, and I'm staying selective.

Mario's take

Morning was a head fake. SPX is basically unchanged but the internals are ugly — Finance cratering -2.13% while the 10Y yield sits at 4.976% is a rate-shock story hiding under a flat headline number. The tape character shifted around 11am when bonds stopped bouncing and equities just... floated.

On my radar
  • MX $3.20RVOL 12.5x, float 36.5M, up 16.36%. Clean low-float name with real relative strength. Watching $3.10 as the intraday support line — if it holds into power hour I want a flag break toward $3.50. Fails below $2.95 and I'm out.
  • STKE $1.54RVOL 7.0x, float 38.4M, up 28.33%. It's extended but a tight float on a 28% move means supply is thin. Not chasing here — only interested if it pulls to $1.38–$1.42 and sets up a higher low.
  • ZTO $19.45RVOL 5.4x, down 7.20%. No float data flags caution, but the momentum is real. Short trigger for me is a break below $19.00 with volume confirmation.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,720 is the line I'm watching into close — any drift below that and I think sellers test $7,680 fast given the Finance drag.
  • 10Y Yield 5.00% — we're 2 basis points away. If that prints, expect another leg down in REIT and Finance into the bell.
  • Gold $4,340 is the next support. Today's -0.45% drop with DXY only up 0.24% tells me gold is losing its safe-haven bid short-term.
How I'm positioned

Crypto Fear & Greed at 78 (Extreme Greed) while BTC is down on the day — that's a divergence I'm not ignoring. I trimmed 20% of my BTC position this morning. Still holding core gold through any pullback to $4,340 but adding nothing until yields stop climbing. Day trades are half-size today — thin scanner output (1 qualifier out of 446) tells me the setup quality isn't there. Into power hour I'm watching MX for the flag. If SPX can't hold $7,720, I'm done trading the long side today and sitting in cash overnight.
