BTC Rips While Equities Stall — Power Hour Sets Up Divergence Trade
Morning session was a grind lower with no clean triggers. Bitcoin's 5.7% spike is the loudest signal on the tape heading into power hour.
Live tape — what this brief is about
Morning was exactly the kind of tape that kills undisciplined traders — choppy, narrow, and unforgiving. SPX barely moved but the internals are ugly, and the scanner came up empty on qualified setups, which tells me liquidity is thin and the moves are mostly noise. The real story today is the BTC/equity divergence.
On my radar
- GLOO $4.91 — RVOL 7.6x, float 89.1M, up 20.6%. Cleaner float than the others. Watching for a consolidation above $4.70 into power hour — if it builds a flag there, I'm interested on the break.
- FEAM $2.06 — RVOL 8.8x, float 41.5M, bouncing off the 200 SMA. That's a real catalyst layer. $1.95 is my hard stop. Best risk/reward of the long setups today.
- FLNC $7.66 — down 15.4%, RVOL 5.5x. I'm watching for a dead-cat bounce into $8.00–$8.20 to fade. Needs a clean rejection candle before I touch it short.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,600 is the line I'm protecting — a close below that opens the door to $7,540 fast.
- 10Y at 4.998% is almost 5%. If it cracks through 5.05% intraday, Utilities and REITs get hit harder — UTIL already down 1.19% and MATS down 1.52% confirm bond pressure is real.
- Gold $4,380 is short-term support. Holding, but silver outperforming suggests a rotation within metals I'm watching closely.
How I'm positioned
Stock Fear & Greed at 28 (Fear) while Crypto Fear & Greed sits at 56 (Greed) — that split is not random. BTC at $80,718 breaking out while equities bleed tells me risk appetite hasn't died, it's just rotated. I added to my BTC position this morning and I'm not touching it until $78,500 breaks. Day trade sizing stays at 50% normal risk until SPX shows conviction either direction off $7,600. Into the last hour, I'm watching FEAM for the flag setup and keeping a short trigger ready on FLNC if it bounces into resistance.
