SPX Fading, Oil Cratering, Fear at 26 — Here's My Game Plan
SPX futures sliding with Energy getting crushed down 2.88% and the Fear & Greed Index sitting at 26. I'm watching three high-RVOL longs pre-market and keeping my stops tight.
Live tape — what this brief is about
Overnight was a mess for everything except metals and BTC. SPX is off 0.45%, crude is down 2.66% to $99.71, and Energy is the clear loser at -2.88% — that's not a sector rotation, that's a liquidation. Fear & Greed at 26 (Fear) and the 10Y yield sitting at 4.955% tells me rate pressure is still the dominant narrative suppressing risk appetite.
On my radar
- FEAM $1.76 — RVOL 14.5x, float 41.5M, momentum play up 39.68% pre-market. Small float + that kind of volume is a recipe for a fast move. I want to see it hold $1.60 on any open pullback before I consider a long entry. A reclaim of $1.80 with volume is the trigger.
- GLOO $4.07 — RVOL 15.9x, float 89.1M, catalyst-driven. Bigger float means I need a tighter setup. Watching for a flag or base above $3.85 with a break above $4.20 as my confirmation.
- LUXE $8.81 — RVOL 13.2x, float 137.3M. Float is on the heavier side so I'm sizing down. Need a clean hold above $8.50 and a break of $9.00 to get interested.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,500 is the line I'm watching — a clean break below that opens up a move to $7,440 fast.
- Gold $4,411 is holding well. I'm not adding until I see a pullback to $4,370 or a breakout above $4,450.
- Crude $99.71 cracking below $98 would accelerate the Energy selling — staying away from XLE entirely today.
- 10Y at 4.955% — if this touches 5.0%, tech loses its bid fast despite today's +0.10%.
How I'm positioned
Fear & Greed at 26 with BTC quietly up 0.91% while equities bleed is an interesting divergence. I'm holding my gold and silver positions — silver up 1.40% overnight and I'm not trimming. BTC at $76,834 is fine; I'm long with a mental stop around $72,500.
For day trades today, I'm sizing at 60% of normal risk until SPX shows a clear direction off $7,500. I'll be watching FEAM at the open — if it pulls to $1.60 and bounces with volume, I'm in for a quick scalp targeting $2.00. No chasing opens above the pre-market high.
