Crude Rips 4%, Silver Craters 6% — Rotation Is Violent This Morning

Crude oil is the only thing working pre-market with a 4.2% gap. Silver getting destroyed, gold soft, and the broader tape is bleeding into the open with 8 of 10 sectors red.

Live tape — what this brief is about

today
Mario's take

Crude is up 4.2% and it's the loudest signal on the board this morning. Everything else is rolling over — silver is down nearly 6%, gold is off 1.7%, the 10Y yield is pushing toward 4.906%, and the stock Fear & Greed sits at 36 (Fear). That yield move is the story. Money is rotating hard out of rate-sensitive sectors and the consumer discretionary space is getting hit the worst at -1.34%.

On my radar
  • CMPS $15.17RVOL 3.9x, float 134.9M, catalyst-driven. Cleanest float of the three longs. Want to see it hold $14.50 at the open and build a 5-minute base before I touch it. Break above $15.75 is the trigger.
  • YQ $4.57 — up 20.58% pre-market, RVOL 2.2x but float at 542.8M is a problem. Won't chase the open. If it pulls back to $4.10–$4.20 and finds buyers, that's a re-entry conversation.
  • SB $8.36RVOL 5.6x on the short side. No catalyst listed but momentum is real. Break below $8.00 and I'm interested in a short with a stop at $8.55.
  • GRAB $3.04RVOL 4.3x with a catalyst. Down 6.46% pre-market. Watch $2.90 — if it loses that level on volume, the next meaningful support is sub-$2.70.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,600 is the line I'm watching at the open — a clean break below that and I expect follow-through selling toward $7,540.
  • Crude $100 is a psychological level and it's sitting right on it. If it holds above $100 into the close, energy stays the only long-side story.
  • Silver $62 — if today's selling extends and silver breaches that level, it's a warning shot for gold next.
  • 10Y Yield 4.95% — that's the next ceiling. If we close above it, financials and REITs get uglier tomorrow.
How I'm positioned

My gold position is taking heat at -1.69% but I'm not cutting it. My cost basis is well below current levels and I'm holding through noise. Silver I trimmed last week — today's move validates that decision. BTC at $76,892 with Crypto Fear & Greed at 69 (Greed) while it's down 1.79% intraday is a divergence I don't love. I'm not adding crypto here.

Day trade sizing is at 75% normal risk given the sector rotation chaos. I'm watching CMPS and SB for the first 15 minutes. If SPX opens below $7,600 and can't reclaim it in the first 30 minutes, I'll add a small SPY put hedge going into tomorrow's session.
