Zero Qualifiers, Crude Ripping, Silver Getting Wrecked — Stay Defensive

The scanner came up empty on qualified setups and silver is down 5.5%. The tape is telling you something — don't fight it into power hour.

Live tape — what this brief is about

today
Mario's take

Morning session was a slow bleed across the board and nothing has changed heading into power hour. The scanner ran 340 tickers and qualified zero — that alone tells me everything about tape quality today.

On my radar
  • YQ $4.57 — +20.58%, RVOL 2.2x, float 542.8M. Too big a float for my style and RVOL isn't convincing. Watching only — I want to see it consolidate above $4.30 before I care.
  • LAC $3.19RVOL 3.5x, 50 SMA bounce, float 361.8M. Lithium names move with narratives. $3.00 is the line — below that and the bounce thesis is dead.
  • SB $8.36RVOL 5.6x on the short side, down 6.38%. Best relative momentum on the scanner today but float is unknown to me. Only trade it if it fails a bounce at $8.60 back into weakness.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,560 is my line into power hour — we lose that and I expect a flush toward $7,510.
  • Gold $4,407 breaking down hard alongside Silver -5.49% is a real concern. Silver leading gold lower is a risk-off signal I don't ignore. My bullion thesis stays intact but I'm not adding here.
  • Crude $100.76 ripping +4.90% while energy equities are only down 0.23% is a disconnect. Energy stocks should be green — they're not. Something's off.
  • 10Y at 4.922% is the real story. Yields moving up this hard are killing tech (-1.09%) and materials (-1.33%).
How I'm positioned

Fear & Greed at 36 (Fear) on equities while crypto sits at 69 (Greed) — that split is strange and I'm not chasing BTC at $77,100 when it's already down 1.5% on the day. My gold position is held but stops are tight at $4,350. Silver's flush has me watching whether this is a shakeout or a real trend break. Day trade size is at 50% of normal — zero qualified setups and a rising yield environment is not where I press.

Into the last hour I'm not adding anything new. If SPX holds $7,560 through 3:30pm I'll look at a small SPY position for a close bounce. Otherwise I'm sitting on my hands.
