Risk-On Rip: BTC +5.7%, Gold +2.5%, SPX Clears $7,745

Everything but energy and materials ran today. BTC broke out hard, gold hit $4,527, and CHPT printed a 74% move the scanner flagged at the open. Here's how I graded the session.

Mario's take

Today was a clean risk-on session — dollar down, yields down, equities up, gold up, BTC ripping. The macro setup aligned and most of my longer-term positions rewarded patience.

On my radar
  • CHPT $9.04RVOL 87.1x, float 25.9M, catalyst-driven. This was the move of the day. I was watching it pre-market and missed the entry at $5.80. By the time it cleared $7.00 it was already extended. Filed this one under "right read, wrong execution."
  • DLTH $4.46RVOL 64.6x, float 38M, +23% on catalyst. Cleaner risk/reward than CHPT if you caught the flag near $3.90. Another one I watched run without a position.
  • CFND $3.06 — only 1 of 358 tickers formally qualified on the scanner. RVOL 2.0x, float 6.7M, 50 SMA bounce setup. Low conviction for me given the broader tape strength — passed on it.
Levels I care about
  • SPX $7,745 held and closed on it — I want to see $7,800 tested tomorrow. Below $7,700 and today looks like a one-day wonder.
  • Gold $4,527 is a new breakout level. My line for holding is $4,480 — anything above that and I'm not touching my position.
  • BTC $81,752 is critical. The Crypto Fear & Greed is at 65 (Greed) — not euphoric yet. $80,000 is now support. Lose that and we retest $77,500.
  • 10Y at 4.762% dropping is what's driving this. If yields bounce back above 4.85% tomorrow, this rally stalls fast.
How I'm positioned

Grade for the day: B+. Got the macro direction right, missed CHPT and DLTH on execution — that's real money left on the table and I'm not glossing over it. My gold and silver positions are sitting nicely; gold up 2.56% and silver up 3.36% is a strong metals day. BTC position is up and I'm not selling into this — Crypto Fear & Greed at 65 with the stock Fear & Greed still at 35 (Fear) tells me there's divergence I want to ride. I'm keeping my BTC stop at $78,500. Day trades were flat — one small winner on a financials name, nothing worth detailing. Tomorrow I'm watching the open on CHPT for a potential fade if it gaps above $9.50 with no follow-through volume. SPX needs to hold $7,720 at the open or I'm cutting my index exposure by a third.
