SPX Clearing $7,670 With Tech Leading — Power Hour Sets Up
Tech is carrying a broad-market rally on 9/11 despite Fear & Greed stuck at 34. Scanner output was thin but ACVA is the standout mover worth watching into the close.
Live tape — what this brief is about
Morning session came in stronger than the Fear reading suggested it would. SPX up over 1% with tech at +1.59% and comms at +1.31% — this is a risk-on tape, not a defensive one, and the 10Y yield dropping to 4.934% is giving equities room to run into power hour.
On my radar
- ACVA $10.43 — RVOL 17.5x, float 174.6M, catalyst-driven +44%. Too extended to chase here but watching for a consolidation back toward $9.80–$10.00 for a re-entry if volume stays elevated into the close.
- CRMT $2.01 — RVOL 3.0x on an 8.3M float with a catalyst. That's a tight float and any continuation squeeze could get violent. $1.85 is the line — I won't touch it below that.
Levels I care about
- SPX $7,670 held as a launch pad this morning — I need to see it hold as support on any power hour dip. A close above $7,670 is a bullish structural confirmation.
- SPX $7,720 is the next ceiling I'm watching. That's where I'd expect distribution to kick in from the first wave of sellers.
- Crude $99.56 dropping nearly 3% while energy equities are up 0.49% is a disconnect I don't trust. Not adding to any energy names here.
- Gold $4,411 is basically flat — bullion is sitting out today's risk rally, which tells me this move isn't fully conviction-driven yet.
How I'm positioned
Fear & Greed at 34 (Fear) while the tape is ripping is a classic wall-of-worry setup — I respect it but I'm not fading this strength. Holding my SPX index position and not trimming into this move. BTC at $77,474 with Crypto Fear & Greed at 56 (Greed) — BTC is behaving; no changes there. ACVA is on my watchlist but I missed the entry and I'm not chasing 44% extended. If SPX holds $7,670 through 3pm, I'm adding a small position into power hour targeting $7,720.
